The Photography Of Joseph Szabo

Here is a collection of black and white photographs taken by Joseph Szabo, perhaps best known for his iconic image of a young girl smoking on the beach which was later used as the front cover for Dinosaur Jr's 'Green Mind' album. Most of his subjects are american teens and he possesses the charming ability of highlighting and celebrating the undeniable awkwardness of adolescence in many of his shots.

The Harder They Come

'The Harder They Come' is a 1972 Jamaican film directed by Perry Henzell and co-written by Trevor D. Rhone. The film stars the one and only Jimmy Cliff who plays Ivanhoe Martin, a character based on Rhyging, a real-life Jamaican criminal who achieved infamy in the 1940s.

Taylor Mead R.I.P

The sad news has just reached us that Warhol star, writer, and poet Taylor Mead died yesterday at the age of 88. Born and raised
in Detroit Michigan, he began his silver screen acting career in Ron Rice's classic 'The Flower Thief' before appearing in several of Andy Warhol's underground films including 'Tarzan' and 'Jane Regained... Sort of' (1963) and 'Taylor Mead's Ass' (1964).

Tallest Heights

Inspired by the drawn-on-film pieces by Norman Mclaren, Len Lye, and Man Ray, Becky & Joe collaborated with musician Delicate Steve to create the charming and beautiful “Tallest Heights.” The animation is made from a combination of ink, paint, bleach, and scratching into different film sizes. The final images are high-resolution scans of super 8, 16, and 35mm film strips and acetate sheets.

12 O'Clock Boys

Pug, a thirteen year old boy living on a dangerous Westside block, has one goal in mind: to join the 12 O’Clock Boys; the notorious urban dirt-bike gang of Baltimore. Converging from all parts of the inner city, they invade the streets and clash with police, who are forbidden to chase the bikes for fear of endangering the public.

Edible Cinema Presents: This Is Spinal Tap

Edible Cinema is a unique viewing experience. When you enter the cinema you are given a tray of numbered, packaged items. At set points in the film a number flashes up at the side of the screen and you open & consume the corresponding package.
